Recently Chelsea FC joined forces with Disney to form a strategic alliance between the biggest entertainment business in the world and one of the most recognised football clubs in the world

It is 4 year deal that will see Chelsea Football Club become the headline sponsor for eight high profile tournaments at the Disney Wide World of Sport facility in Orlando, including the highly respected Soccer Showcase Series which attracts elite teams from all over the country.

Both organisations are committed to the development of the sport of soccer in the USA - both in terms of participation and support - and will work over coming months to develop a programme that educates, informs and engages with coaches and young people visiting the facility. A team from Chelsea’s highly thought of Academy will travel to the DWWS once a year to compete in a soccer showcase event.

    Welcome to the Proving Ground. Disney's Soccer Showcase has grown from one 80-team tournament to a series of three top level national events with more than 600 teams in age groups from U11-U18.     Disney’s Wide World of Sports and Chelsea Football Club

    In July 2007, Chelsea Football Club and Disney’s Wide World of Sports® entered into a four-year agreement, making Chelsea the Official Professional Football Club of Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex and presenting sponsor of Disney’s Soccer Showcase series. The agreement represents Disney Sports' most significant alliance with an international sports organization to date, further cementing Disney's Wide World of Sports® as the preeminent venue for amateur and professional sports in the world.

    Both organizations are committed to the development of the sport of soccer in the USA, in terms of participation, player development and support - and will work together to develop programs that educate, inform and engage with players, coaches and soccer fans visiting Disney’s Wide World of Sports® Complex.

    September 2007 – The Chelsea U16 Boys Academy Team will compete against the top U16 club teams in the U.S. in the premier division of Disney’s Soccer Showcase in Florida, December 27-30, 2007.
